Things to know

  • Drafts and scheduled items are invisible to the public. Anyone guessing their URL gets a 404.
  • Slugs are unique per site. Two sites can both have /about.
  • Missing pages return 404. Unknown tags and months with no posts also return 404, rather than an empty page.
  • Sections that don't fit a layout fall back to the main area. If you switch a layout, a section in an area the new layout lacks is shown in the main area, not hidden or deleted. Switching back restores its original area.
  • Sidebar widgets and archives show only published posts. Scheduled posts never appear early.
  • Contact form messages are stored first. Each submission is saved, then emailed to the site's contact address. If no address is set, or delivery fails, the message is kept with the reason recorded. Visitors see success because the message is saved.
  • There is no comment system. Posts link to LinkedIn for discussion, so a post that isn't shared there has no discussion path.
  • Public search (/search?q=) covers published posts and is excluded from search-engine indexes.
  • Crawler files are per site. robots.txt and sitemap.xml are generated for each site. ads.txt appears only for sites with an AdSense publisher id and is a 404 elsewhere.
  • Preview links go to the live site. Clicking a link inside a preview leaves the preview, and preview pages are marked noindex.
  • Private knowledge-base sites cannot publish. Their entries stay as drafts.
  • Section icons for feature-grid cards are chosen from a fixed set. Adding a new icon is a developer change, not an admin feature.
